FAQ: Exploring Therapy
1
Why Therapy?Â
Therapy provides a neutral non-judgemental space for adults, teens and children to explore their emotions and experiences. Licensed clinicians are able to help the individual learn about themselves, as well as learn new tools to navigate life.Â
2
What kind of therapy is best?
Therapy is a very personal journey in which a clinician should tailor approaches to the needs and interest of the client. I utilize a combination of traditional narrative 'talk-therapy', AAT, CBT, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Internal Family System (IFS) to best support my clients. Â
3
How does Play Therapy work?Â
Play Therapy is a modality that meets the brain development of younger clients where they are at. We know that children are regulated and learn best through play, as play offers a unique method of communicating needs that our kiddos have.Â
4
Nature and Animals
The Biophilial Hypothesis suggest that we as humans have an innate desire to connect with animals and nature. Utilizing this knowledge, connection with a therapist, animals, and immersing yourself in nature has organic therapeutic value.Â
